The Role

The
In-Room Dining Server is responsible for delivering attentive, efficient,
and personalized food and beverage service to guests within the comfort of their
rooms, ensuring satisfaction throughout the in-room dining experience. This role
manages order taking, tray and table setup, delivery, and billing with accuracy
and professionalism, reflecting Mandarin Oriental’s commitment to legendary
service.

Key Responsibilities

Guest
Dining Experience

  • Receive and process in-room dining orders
    accurately and courteously.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms
    in a timely and professional manner.
  • Set up trays or tables according
    to established service standards.
  • Present dishes and explain orders
    clearly when necessary.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly
    to requests or concerns.
  • Provide a warm and courteous interaction,
    ensuring a refined and seamless in-room experience

Service Flow &
Operations

  • Coordinate closely with the kitchen to ensure timely
    preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Ensure all orders are checked
    for accuracy prior to delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization
    of service pantries and equipment.
  • Collect trays and tables promptly
    and discreetly from guest rooms and corridors.
  • Participate in daily
    briefings and operational updates.

Billing & Transactions


  • Prepare and present bills accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure
    all in-room dining orders are posted correctly to guest accounts.

  • Handle transactions efficiently in accordance with established
    procedures.

Team Support & Coordination

  • Coordinate
    with kitchen, stewarding, and other service colleagues to ensure smooth
    operations.
  • Assist teammates during peak periods to maintain service
    efficiency.
  • Communicate guest feedback or service issues promptly.

Service Excellence & Brand Standards

  • Uphold Mandarin
    Oriental’s Pillars of Legendary Quality Experiences.
  • Maintain
    impeccable grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
  • Demonstrate
    professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Deliver service
    with warmth, anticipating guest needs in a private setting.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Participate in training programs,
    SOP briefings, and service simulations.
  • Assist in preparing IRD
    stations, equipment, and operational readiness.
  • Support pre-opening
    operations as required.

Qualifications &
Experience

  • Diploma in Hospitality or related field
    preferred.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service or in-room
    dining is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service
    standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Guest-focused with a positive and service-oriented attitude.

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong teamwork and coordination skills.
  • Professional grooming
    and presentation.
