Job Description

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The
Paymaster & General Cashier is responsible for the accurate
and timely administration of payroll while maintaining effective control over
the hotel’s cash management functions. This role ensures payroll is processed
in compliance with statutory requirements and company policies, while
safeguarding the hotel’s cash assets through proper handling, reconciliation
and banking procedures.

and People & Culture teams, the Paymaster & General Cashier supports
operational excellence by maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring
compliance with financial procedures and delivering exceptional internal service
to team members and departments.

LT";">QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related
    discipline preferred.
  • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Minimum 3 years of relevant
    experience in payroll, finance or general cashier functions, preferably within
    the hospitality industry.
  • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Strong knowledge of payroll
    administration, statutory contributions and cash handling
    procedures.
  • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Experience processing payroll
    in a high-volume environment with strict deadlines.
  • style="line-height: normal;">Excellent numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills with strong
    attention to detail.
  • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience
    with payroll systems, accounting software, online banking platforms
    and government portals is advantageous.
  • Strong
    organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

    contributing effectively as part of a team.

style="line-height: normal;">PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION

    accurately and within established timelines.
  • Process overtime
    payments, allowances, statutory deductions and other payroll adjustments
    in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • style="line-height: normal;">Verify payroll data received from the People & Culture department
    for completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
    style="line-height: normal;">Process payroll-related deductions and reimbursements based
    on approved documentation.
  • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Prepare payroll journals
    and payroll accrual entries for month-end reporting.
  • style="line-height: normal;">Prepare and submit statutory payroll contributions and filings,
    including CPF, tax reporting and other government submissions where
    applicable.
  • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Maintain payroll records
    and supporting documentation in a confidential and organised
    manner.
  • Respond promptly and professionally
    to payroll-related enquiries from team members.
  • style="line-height: normal;">Ensure payroll activities comply with company policies, internal
    controls and statutory requirements.

    GENERAL
    CASHIER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain custody and accountability of the hotel's cash funds,
      floats and petty cash.
    • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Prepare and verify daily cash
      collections received from operational departments.
    • style="line-height: normal;">Count, reconcile and balance cash receipts against supporting
      documentation and system reports.
    • Prepare daily
      bank deposits and ensure timely banking of hotel funds.
    • style="line-height: normal;">Maintain accurate records of all cash movements and banking
      transactions.
    • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Reconcile cash shortages
      or overages and investigate discrepancies promptly.
    • style="line-height: normal;">Issue and replenish cashier floats in accordance with approved
      procedures.
    • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Conduct periodic verification
      of cashier floats and petty cash balances.
    • Ensure all cash
      handling procedures comply with company policies and internal control
      requirements.
    • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Safeguard cash, negotiable
      instruments and related financial assets through secure handling and storage
      practices.

    style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">FINANCIAL CONTROLS &
    COMPLIANCE

      style="line-height: normal;">Maintain strong internal controls over payroll and cash handling
      processes.
    • Prepare payroll-related balance sheet
      reconciliations as assigned.
    • style="font-family: "Sabon Next LT";">Support month-end and year-end
      closing activities relating to payroll and cash accounts.
    • style="line-height: normal;">Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate
      documentation and responding to audit requests.
      style="line-height: normal;">Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards
      and applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Continuously
      identify opportunities to improve payroll and cash management processes while
      maintaining appropriate segregation of duties.

    relationships with banks, auditors and relevant external agencies where
    required.
