Job Description

Position Overview:
At The Wildbirch Hotel, our
PORTER/BELLMAN SERVICE TEAM serve as the welcoming face of our unique boutique
property at the lobby/main entrance valet point. They are responsible
for greeting guests, helping check-ins, providing luggage service to clients,
and ensuring each guest enjoys an exceptional stay in Anchorage. The role
requires handling guest inquiries, luggage service and managing check-in
and check-out support in an efficient, warm, and professional
manner.

A valid work authorization for the USA is required -
Please note that we do not provide any visa sponsoring for the listed
role.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Greet and welcoming guests while ensuring all luagge for the the guest
    is accurate loaded/unloaded and brought to the clients car/room.
  • Assist
    guests in luggage service.
  • Share in-depth knowledge of the hotel, its
    amenities, room layouts, and the surrounding Anchorage area, including notable
    events and activities.
  • Handle guest requests for luggage/delivery
    services, aiming to resolve any issues promptly to ensure guest
    satisfaction.
  • Maintain the hotel entrance, lobby and valet point area
    and the parking area as a hub of guest interaction, keeping it organized
    and supplied.
  • Work with other departments to coordinate guest needs
    and special accommodations.
  • Communicate daily with the Front Office
    Manager to review guest services, priorities, and any additional tasks
    or special projects.
  • Contribute to the warm, inviting atmosphere
    by managing the lobby’s communal space, which features a fireplace, and local
    art.

Requirements:

  • Previous porter
    service, hotel or customer service experience is required.
  • Excellent
    communication skills, including the ability to read and respond in English
    (additional languages are a plus).
  • Ability to remain calm under
    pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic,
    service-oriented, and with a passion for hospitality and Alaska’s vibrant
    culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    and familiarity with web-based tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
    and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical & Availability Requirements:


  • This role requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting of light
    materials.
  • The hotel operates 24/7, and availability for shifts
    on weekends, holidays, and nights is expected.
