What is the job?

We
have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and motivated
Kitchenhand (Part Time) to join the Kitchen team at Crowne
Plaza Hobart.

In this hands-on role, you will help maintain a clean, safe and organised
kitchen while supporting the team to keep our culinary operations running
smoothly.

 

Your day to day

As
a Kitchenhand, you’ll play an important role in supporting the smooth
and efficient operation of our kitchens. Your responsibilities
will include:

  • Operating dishwashing machinery to clean and sanitise
    crockery, cookware and kitchen tools.
  • Cleaning and sterilising surfaces,
    stoves, ovens, grills, back-of-house areas and cooking
    equipment.
  • Keeping kitchens, wash-up areas and storage spaces clean,
    safe and organised including fridges and freezers.
  • Receiving, sorting
    and storing kitchen deliveries.
  • Supporting the Kitchen and F&B teams
    during service, including basic food preparation (e.g. peeling, cutting
    and washing ingredients).
  • Removing kitchen waste and maintaining
    cleanliness throughout the kitchen in line with IHG
    procedures.
  • Reporting hazards and following safety procedures using
    appropriate equipment.

 

What we need
from you

  • Previous experience as a Kitchenhand, Kitchen
    Steward, Kitchen Porter or in a similar hospitality role is desirable but
    not essential.
  • Works efficiently and can prioritise tasks in
    a fast-paced environment.
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards
    of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation.
  • Follows instructions
    accurately and uses initiative when appropriate.
  • Communicates well
    and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Can safely undertake physical
    tasks, including lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods.
  • A
    collaborative approach, aligned with IHG brand standards, service culture,
    and values.
  • Awareness of workplace health and safety (OH&S)
    requirements.
  • Flexibility across a 7-day roster including mornings,
    evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Ongoing full working rights
    in Australia.
  • Based in Hobart or willing
    to relocate.
