Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Preventive
Maintenance

    preventive maintenance on all commercial kitchen equipment in accordance
    with the hotel's preventive maintenance program. data-section-id="abfjye" data-start="809" data-end="887">Inspect equipment
    for wear, leaks, unusual noise, vibration, or malfunction. data-section-id="petj94" data-start="888" data-end="963">Lubricate moving parts
    and replace worn components before failures occur. data-section-id="b8i0da" data-start="964" data-end="1030">Maintain maintenance
    records and update work completion reports.
  • data-start="1031" data-end="1108">Ensure all maintenance activities comply
    with manufacturer recommendations.

 

Corrective
Maintenance

    data-section-id="1kl7j13" data-start="1141" data-end="1207">Diagnose faults
    and repair defective kitchen equipment promptly. data-section-id="1lqva3c" data-start="1208" data-end="1295">Attend maintenance
    requests raised through the hotel's maintenance management system. data-section-id="1mc83n3" data-start="1296" data-end="1365">Troubleshoot
    electrical, mechanical, gas, and steam-related issues. data-section-id="64uiqx" data-start="1366" data-end="1493">Replace defective
    motors, switches, thermostats, heating elements, contactors, valves, bearings,
    belts, and other components.
  • data-end="1572">Coordinate with suppliers for major repairs requiring
    specialized expertise.

 

General Preventive
Maintenance Activities

For all
equipment, the Kitchen Technician should:

  • data-end="3197">Conduct visual inspections for wear, corrosion, leaks,
    or damage.
  • data-end="3274">Clean internal and external components as recommended by
    the manufacturer.
  • data-end="3329">Tighten loose electrical and mechanical connections.
  • data-section-id="1lymgwn" data-start="3330" data-end="3394">Lubricate bearings,
    hinges, and moving parts where applicable.
  • data-start="3395" data-end="3453">Verify equipment calibration and operating
    temperatures.
  • data-end="3520">Test safety devices, emergency stops, and protective
    interlocks.
  • data-end="3587">Record maintenance activities, findings, and corrective
    actions.
  • data-end="3645">Report equipment requiring major repair or replacement.
  • data-section-id="1kle55h" data-start="3646" data-end="3770">Ensure all equipment
    complies with food safety, hygiene, and occupational safety standards before
    returning it
    to service.

 

Qualifications:

Education

  • data-end="4895">Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical,
    Refrigeration, or Industrial Maintenance.
  • data-start="4896" data-end="4978">Trade certification in commercial kitchen
    equipment maintenance is
    an advantage.
  •  

    Experience

    data-start="4995" data-end="5230">
  • data-start="4995" data-end="5121">Minimum 2–3 years' experience as a Kitchen
    Technician in a hotel, commercial kitchen, or food production facility.
  • data-section-id="fbw0a" data-start="5122" data-end="5185">Experience
    with commercial kitchen and refrigeration systems. data-section-id="1kt9zo7" data-start="5186" data-end="5230">Hospitality industry
    experience preferred.
