the city’s top attractions. With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events
spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand
Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business
and leisure events alike.
We are looking for
a Casual Porter to join our Concierge team!
A little taste of your
day-to-day
- Greeting guests upon arrival
and departure with a warm and professional
demeanor. - Assisting with luggage, including
unloading/loading vehicles and transporting bags to and from guest
rooms. - Providing directions within the hotel
and guidance to local attractions or transportation
options. - Maintaining a clean and presentable lobby
area and entrance. - Assisting in organizing
or directing guest traffic, especially during busy check-in/out times
or events. - Opening doors and providing a welcoming
experience at the entrance. - Escorting guests to their
rooms and providing a brief orientation of room features and hotel
facilities. - Anticipating guest needs and offering
assistance before being asked to enhance the guest
experience. - Handling special requests, such as delivering
amenities, extra towels, or cots. - Coordinating
with the front desk, concierge, valet, and housekeeping
teams. - Monitoring the lobby and entrance
for suspicious activity or safety
hazards.
What we need
from you
- Prior experience working as a Luggage
Porter, Door Person, Receptionist, Concierge or Guest Services Agent at a luxury
hotel is beneficial - An organised approach,
ability to handle large amounts of information at once and deal with various
requests simultaneously - Passion for providing
luxury experiences, not shy to go above and beyond to personalise our Guests
stay and provide your local wisdom to enhance their
experience - Ongoing availability to work
flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public
holidays - Full working rights in Australia without
restrictions - Impeccable grooming standards and good
personal hygiene. - A current Open (unrestricted) Australian Driver
Licence (Class C) is required. - Physical fitness as you’ll be
on your feet most of the day. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull
objects, such as tables, up to 23 kg – we have the equipment to support you
and keep you safe
