Job Description

Key Result Area:

 


  • Directs and controls all subordinate engineering staff to ensure
    that all day to day operational matters are handled on time and that guest
    expectations are met.
  • Maintains facilities and equipment
    by conducting routine inspections and determining appropriate rectification
    measures.
  • Maintains systems to be able to handle day
    to day guest requests quickly and efficiently.
  • Assists
    in the preparation of duty rosters, vacation plans and public holiday
    scheduling.
  • Ensures the implementation and follow up
    of ongoing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Assists in
    the establishment of inventory procedures and control.

  • Assists in the monitoring and controlling of the hotels annual R&M
    budget
  • Ensures the implementation and follow up of energy
    conservation programs
  • Liaise with purchasing and suppliers
    to ensure provision of quality engineering supplies at most competitive
    prices

 

Monitors the standard of work
carried out by contractors engaged by the hotel to ensure that it meets
the agreed quality.

 

  • Assists in
    the maintenance and monitoring of established safety and emergency
    procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining efficient
    administration within the engineering department.
  • Assists
    in the selection, training, evaluation and rewarding of employees
    as directed.
  • Coaches, counsels, disciplines and develops
    subordinate employees.

 


General:

 


  • Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining
    effective relationships with colleagues.
  • Performs
    additional duties as directed by supervisors.
  • Makes
    appropriate suggestions and recommendations to supervisors for the general
    improvement of the hotel.
  • Is fully conversant with all
    health and safety, fire and emergency procedures.

  • Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform,
    and body language.
  • Is polite and professional in any
    situation where the image or regulation of the hotel is represented.

  • Attends meetings and training as required by supervisors.

  • Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically,
    and within the parameters of Law.

 


Qualification Required: 

 


  • 3-5 years in the same position of group hotel, good command
    of both spoken and written Chines and English, computer Microsoft Word &
    Excel & Outlook. 
  • Degree in building services
    engineering field or equivalent level.
     

  • Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker in Grade B or above
    is preferred
