The Director of Distribution GC is responsible for shaping the multi-year
strategy for our strategic third-party partners within the region. This role
is essential for driving revenue growth by supporting the region in optimizing
the channel mix to achieve top-line revenue goals.
The role involves implementing cutting-edge strategies to enhance internal
and external relationships to improve performance and support IHG's Book Direct
Strategy. The Director will set the strategic direction and monitor the annual
performance of IHG’s Intermediary Channels. Additionally, this position leads
the implementation of Distribution Strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment
with regional strategies. By fostering collaboration within the team
and leveraging your expertise, you will guide the connectivity roadmap
that propels our company forward. You play a vital role in shaping the future
trajectory of our business.
Your day to day • Serve as a senior business leader to lead development
of channel strategies, annual business plans and 3–5-year strategic plans
to strengthen the brand positioning and commercial objectives. • Influences
the annual global strategic planning process to represent key regional
initiatives and focus markets. • Establishes extensive knowledge base through
internal and external sources in order to define and set an innovative agenda
for regional distribution channels delivery. Identifies and responds to key
consumer/industry trends and determines future regional (key market) channel
scenarios. • Develop and nurture strong relationships with strategic third-party
distribution partners (e.g., OTAs, wholesalers, connectivity partners, and other
key channel partners) • Responsible for negotiating favorable contract terms
and managing the planning and implementation of the contracting process. • Plan,
organize, control and lead subordinate functions within established schedules,
budgetary and manpower plans; establish goals, performance standards
and operating procedures for assigned functions. Participate in creation
of department staffing and capital budgets. • Initiate cross-channel education
for both internal stakeholders and hotel levels. • Initiate tools and levers
for hotels to drive their channel performance. • Support rate parity
and compliance across the region. • Create an environment for a highly engaged
team and lead towards maximum effectiveness by developing team members towards
their full potential, assigning roles/tasks that facilitate personal growth
and shepherding people over time toward roles where they continue to develop
and operate suited to their professional areas of strength.
What
we need from you • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work
or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience. Exposure
to business courses or experience is a plus. • 10+ years of progressive work
experience in the hospitality and online travel industry, with proven expertise
across multiple disciplines, technologies, and processes relevant
to distribution and partnerships. • Demonstrated ability to drive strong
business results in complex and challenging environments. • At least 5 years
of management experience, leading teams as well as secondary-level team members.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire, develop,
and manage a diverse, multicultural team in a dynamic and fast-paced
environment. • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability
to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization, including
internal and external senior leaders. • Excellent negotiation and influencing
skills, with a track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with
the ability to present and articulate complex concepts effectively. Ability
to navigate and adapt to industry changes, leveraging data-driven insights
and innovative approaches to optimize distribution strategies.
