Job Description

POSITION
SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager – Logistics &
Procurement is responsible for the end-to-end management of procurement
logistics, import operations, customs compliance, freight consolidation
and international sourcing activities for Marriott Hotels in Fiji. The role
ensures compliance with Fiji Customs and Biosecurity regulations while
delivering cost-effective and uninterrupted supply chain operations.


CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Manage
    all import shipments for Marriott Hotels in Fiji.

  • Coordinate customs clearance through Customs House Agents
    (CHA).
  • Prepare and submit import documentation to Fiji
    Customs and Biosecurity Authority of Fiji.
  • Review
    commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and shipping
    documents.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely delivery
    to hotels.
  • Consolidate freight for Marriott properties
    to optimize logistics costs.
  • Support strategic sourcing
    of imported products from overseas markets.
  • Work
    with Cluster Procurement Manager on landed cost calculations and supplier
    negotiations.
  • Maintain procurement and logistics
    records.
  • Develop logistics cost-saving
    initiatives.

COMPLIANCE
RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure compliance with Marriott
Procurement Policies, Fiji Customs Laws, Fiji Biosecurity Laws, import
regulations, trade requirements and audit standards.


STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Work
closely with Cluster Procurement Manager, Finance, Operations, Suppliers,
Freight Forwarders, CHA, Fiji Customs and Biosecurity Authority.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in supply chain, Procurement, Logistics, Commerce or Business
    Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years experience
    in procurement, logistics, customs clearance or import/export operations.
    Hospitality experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Customs clearance lead
    time, freight cost savings, shipment consolidation efficiencies, supplier
    performance, compliance results and procurement savings.
