A Banquet Chef takes part in servicing our
guests around our beautiful Hotel and you'll be part of a great team of helpful
people who are passionate about delivering exceptional service.
This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely,
and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest
satisfaction.

A Banquet Chef assists in the coordination,
planning and supervision of the production, plating and presentation of the food
at all Banquet events in a cost effective, safe manner to meet/exceed customer
expectations and attract future business.

SUPPORTIVE
FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions,
this position may be required to perform a combination of the following
supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to
be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements
of the company.

  • Create and determine costs
    for menus.
  • Participate in all promotional
    events.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL
AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge,
skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she
can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable
accommodation.

  • Ability to work in confined area

    to effectively manage a large department.

QUALIFICATION
STANDARDS

EXPERIENCE

  • 4 – 5 years
    Kitchen Management as a Chef or Executive Chef in a Hotel and/or Resort setting
    preferred
  • Hospitality experience preferred

LICENSES
OR CERTIFICATES

  • Ability to obtain required government
    licenses or certifications

REQUIRED SKILLS
AND ABILITIES:

Requires thorough knowledge of the catering
and food profession in order to perform non-repetitive analytical work. Requires
knowledge of policies and procedures and the ability to determine course
of action based on these guidelines. Requires supervision/management skills.

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality
with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all
times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help
co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.

Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of
whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Basic mathematical
skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately
complex mathematical calculations without error. Ability to stand, walk
and continuously perform in the Banquet Kitchen. Ability to lift and carry up
to 50lbs. Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to establish
and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers
and patrons.

with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have
the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help
whenever you are not sure how to do something.

Safety & Security:

The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost
importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel
security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting
heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards
and safety concerns.
