ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are
in search of a highly skilled Chef de Partie to join our culinary team
in creating memorable dishes for our restaurant's patrons. The ideal candidate
will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of high-quality meals
that are consistent and exceed our standards, ensuring the highest level
of quality.

Primary accountabilities
include:

  • Consistently providing the highest quality
    of service to our customers and staff alike, setting a shining example for our
    team.
  • Ensuring the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily
    preparation of all meals, keeping up to date with new products, recipes
    and preparation techniques.
  • Coordinating daily tasks with the Sous
    Chef.
  • Responsible for supervising the team.
  • Estimating the daily
    production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products
    to ensure that standards are met.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of guest
    satisfaction through the output of consistent, quality menu
    items.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all standard procedures and policies
    pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage
    and sanitation.
  • Maintaining full awareness of all menu items, their
    recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
  • Following
    good preservation standards for the proper handling of all food products at
    the right temperature.
  • Operating and maintaining all department
    equipment and reporting of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensuring effective
    communication between staff by maintaining a secure and friendly working
    environment.
  • Being responsible for hygiene, safety and correct use
    of equipment and utensils.
  • Daily checking of expiry dates and proper
    storage of food items.
  • Consulting daily with Sous Chef and Executive
    Chef on the daily requirements, functions and any last minute
    events.
  • Guiding and training culinary staff on a daily basis to ensure
    their highest motivation.
  • Setting an example to others for personal
    hygiene and cleanliness while on duty.
  • Providing daily feedback
    and reporting of issues as they arise.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure
    and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing sanitation
    standards and procedures, complying with health and legal
    regulations.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge
    by tracking emerging trends in the industry, reviewing professional
    publications, benchmarking best practices, and participating in community
    events.

ABOUT YOU

  • A Red-Seal certified
    (or working towards), seasoned culinary professional possessing a minimum of one
    year of experience in a similar leading role in an upscale Restaurant operation
    in a downtown city center.
  • Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along
    with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor,
    with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Someone who has solid leadership
    skills, adept at training, coaching and motivating a team of culinary
    professionals, passionate about helping them develop technique
    and artistry.
  • An exceptional problem-solver, knowing how
    to troubleshoot, resolve situations efficiently, with the ability to shift
    priorities as needed.
  • Able to work well under pressure and enjoy
    a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communicator who values teamwork
    and collaboration.
  • Able to combine strategic planning and day-to-day
    management.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, including daytime,
    evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, walk,
    push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 40 pounds
    or more.
