Job
Description

The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for supervising
the daily maintenance and presentation of the hotel's gardens, lawns, trees,
irrigation systems, and outdoor landscaped areas.

The role ensures all landscaping activities are carried out safely, efficiently,
and to the highest quality standards, maintaining an attractive and welcoming
environment that enhances the overall guest experience.

DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES

Landscape
Operations

  • Supervise the daily maintenance of all landscaped
    areas, gardens, lawns, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and outdoor public
    spaces.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor the performance of gardeners
    and landscape attendants.
  • Ensure landscaped areas are maintained to
    the hotel's luxury standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify
    areas requiring maintenance or improvement.
  • Monitor seasonal planting,
    pruning, fertilization, mulching, and lawn care activities.
  • Ensure all
    outdoor areas remain clean, safe, and visually
    appealing.

Irrigation Systems

  • Monitor
    the operation of irrigation systems to ensure proper watering
    schedules.
  • Inspect sprinklers, valves, pumps, controllers,
    and irrigation lines for proper functionality.
  • Report irrigation faults
    and coordinate repairs with the Engineering team.
  • Promote water
    conservation through efficient irrigation practices.
  • Maintain accurate
    irrigation maintenance records.

Team
Supervision

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate the landscape
    team.
  • Conduct daily briefings and assign work
    priorities.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and work
    quality.
  • Provide on-the-job training to improve technical
    skills.
  • Ensure compliance with grooming and uniform
    standards.

Equipment & Materials

  • Ensure
    landscaping tools and equipment are maintained in good working
    condition.
  • Monitor inventory of fertilizers, pesticides, plants,
    irrigation materials, and consumables.
  • Report shortages and recommend
    procurement when required.
  • Ensure proper storage of equipment
    and chemicals.

Health, Safety & Environmental
Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with hotel health, safety,
    and environmental policies.
  • Promote safe handling and storage
    of fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals.
  • Conduct regular safety
    inspections within landscaped areas.
  • Report hazards, accidents,
    and equipment defects promptly.
  • Ensure all team members use appropriate
    personal protective equipment (PPE).

Contractor
Coordination

  • Supervise external landscaping contractors
    during maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Ensure contractors comply
    with hotel standards and safety procedures.
  • Monitor work quality
    and report progress to the Chief Engineer.
  • Verify completion of assigned
    contractor works.

Communication &
Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping,
    Security, Recreation, and Food & Beverage regarding outdoor maintenance
    activities.
  • Support event setups involving gardens and outdoor
    venues.
  • Report operational issues and maintenance requirements
    promptly.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and daily
    briefings.

Sustainability

  • Support water
    conservation and environmentally responsible landscaping
    practices.
  • Promote waste reduction and proper disposal of garden
    waste.
  • Encourage sustainable horticultural practices.
  • Assist
    in implementing the hotel's sustainability initiatives.

  • Diploma
    or Certificate in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Agricultural Engineering,
    or a related field
    preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years
    of experience in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds
    maintenance.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a hotel, resort,
    or large commercial property preferred.
  • Experience with irrigation
    systems and landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Pre-opening experience
    is an advantage.
