The Role
The
Senior Sales Manager – Catering & Events is responsible for leading
the proactive sales, planning, and execution of catering and event business
for Mandarin Oriental, Makati during its pre-opening and post-opening phases.
This role plays a critical part in establishing the hotel’s market presence,
driving revenue from social, corporate, and high-profile events, and delivering
legendary Mandarin Oriental service experiences.
Key
Responsibilities
Pre-opening & Business Development:
- Support the pre-opening strategy by developing catering and events sales
frameworks, processes, pricing, menus positioning, and market segmentation.
- Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities in corporate,
social, government, MICE, luxury weddings, and special events. - Conduct
market research to position Mandarin Oriental, Makati as a leading luxury events
destination in Metro Manila. - Build and maintain strong relationships
with event planners, corporate clients, embassies, wedding planners, and key
local influencers.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
- Proactively manage and grow the catering and events sales pipeline
to achieve and exceed revenue targets. - Prepare, negotiate, and close
event contracts while ensuring profitability and alignment with brand
standards. - Maximize revenue through strategic up-selling,
cross-selling, and customized event solutions. - Collaborate with Revenue
Management on pricing strategies, demand forecasts, and business mix
optimization.
Event Planning & Execution:
- Oversee
the end-to-end sales handover process to ensure flawless event execution
with Operations, Culinary, and Banquets teams. - Ensure all client
requirements, function details, and service expectations are clearly documented
and communicated. - Attend key events as required to ensure service
excellence and client satisfaction.
Leadership &
Collaboration:
- Act as a senior sales representative for catering
and events, mentoring junior team members as assigned. - Work closely
with Marketing, PR, and Digital teams to support promotional initiatives
and showcase event offerings. - Represent the hotel at client events,
industry functions, and trade shows.
Brand, Service &
Compliance:
- Uphold Mandarin Oriental’s luxury brand standards,
service philosophy, and values in all interactions. - Ensure compliance
with legal, financial, and contractual guidelines. - Handle guest
feedback professionally and proactively resolve issues to exceed
expectations.
Qualifications &
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management,
Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. - Minimum
5–7 years of experience in catering and events sales within
luxury hotels or high-end venues. - Proven track record in achieving
or exceeding catering and events revenue targets. - Pre-opening hotel
experience is highly desirable. - Strong industry network within Metro
Manila is an advantage.
