The Role

The
Sales Manager – Catering & Events is responsible
for proactively generating catering and events business and supporting
the successful launch of Mandarin Oriental, Makati. This role focuses
on converting inquiries into confirmed business, building strong client
relationships, and coordinating closely with internal teams to deliver
exceptional event experiences that reflect the Mandarin Oriental brand.



Key Responsibilities

Pre-opening & Sales
Development:

  • Support pre-opening initiatives including sales
    systems setup, standard operating procedures, and market familiarization.

  • Proactively source and convert catering and events opportunities
    in corporate, social, government, weddings, and MICE segments.
  • Conduct
    site inspections and client presentations to showcase the hotel’s event spaces
    and offerings.
  • Assist in market analysis and competitor benchmarking
    to support positioning and pricing strategies.

Catering & Events
Sales

  • Handle incoming catering and events inquiries and manage
    the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing.
  • Prepare
    proposals, contracts, and event outlines in accordance with hotel policies
    and brand standards.
  • Meet or exceed assigned catering and events
    revenue targets.
  • Maximize revenue through up-selling, cross-selling,
    and customized event solutions.

Event Coordination & Execution


  • Ensure thorough and accurate handover of confirmed events to the Events
    Operations and Banquet teams.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients
    regarding event requirements, timelines, and expectations.
  • Attend
    pre-event meetings and selected events as required to ensure service quality
    and client satisfaction.

Client Relationship Management


  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, event planners,
    and local partners.
  • Conduct post-event follow-ups to gather feedback
    and encourage repeat business.
  • Represent Mandarin Oriental, Makati
    at networking events, trade shows, and industry functions as assigned.

Brand & Service Excellence

  • Uphold Mandarin Oriental’s
    service philosophy, luxury standards, and brand values at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with contractual, financial, and operational
    guidelines.
  • Address client concerns professionally and escalate issues
    when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
    in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related
    field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in catering
    and events sales within a hotel or upscale venue.
  • Luxury hotel
    or international brand experience preferred.
  • Pre-opening hotel
    experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in Metro Manila
    events, weddings, and corporate market is desirable.
