The Role

Mandarin Oriental Makati is seeking a skilled and proactive Duty
Engineer to join our pre-opening Engineering team. This role
is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of all
hotel facilities and systems. As part of the pre-opening team, you will play
a key role in setting up engineering standards, testing systems, and supporting
a seamless launch of this luxury destination.

Key
Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day engineering
  operations, ensuring all hotel systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
  function efficiently
• Monitor and respond to maintenance requests
  and emergencies in a timely manner
• Conduct regular inspections
  of equipment, plant rooms, and public areas to ensure safety and compliance


• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and guest
  disruption
• Support the implementation of preventive maintenance
  programs and engineering procedures
• Assist in testing, commissioning,
  and handover of systems during the pre-opening phase
• Ensure compliance
  with safety standards, local regulations, and Mandarin Oriental brand
  requirements
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities,
  repairs, and equipment performance
• Liaise with contractors and service
  providers to ensure quality and timely completion of works
• Collaborate
  closely with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to support
  operational needs

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical,
  or related field) and PRC Licensed Engineer
• Minimum 3–5 years
  of engineering experience in hotels, preferably within a luxury
  or pre-opening environment
• Strong knowledge of building systems,
  including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire & safety systems


• Hands-on troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail


• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies


• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems and engineering tools


• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work shifts,
  including weekends and holidays
