Mandarin Oriental, Makati is an upcoming 5-star luxury hotel set within
the lush Ayala Triangle Gardens, at the prestigious corner of Paseo de Roxas
and Makati Avenue.

Scheduled to open in 2026, this landmark development will feature 275 elegantly
appointed guestrooms and suites, offering a refined blend of contemporary design
and timeless sophistication. Guests will enjoy an exceptional array
of world-class amenities, including a curated selection of restaurants,
a stylish bar, a serene pool area, and the brand’s signature spa. Designed to
be a sanctuary in the heart of the city, the hotel promises an elevated
experience for both leisure and business travelers seeking comfort, excellence,
and distinction in Manila.

The Role


The Doorman is responsible for delivering a warm, gracious, and professional
welcome and farewell to all guests, ensuring a strong first and last impression
of the hotel. As an ambassador of Mandarin Oriental, the Doorman upholds
the brand’s legendary service standards by providing attentive, anticipatory,
and personalized service at the hotel entrance.

In
a pre-opening environment, this role is essential in establishing arrival
protocols, service culture, and operational readiness for a seamless hotel
opening.

Key Responsibilities


Guest Arrival & Departure Experience

  • Provide
    a courteous and professional greeting to all guests, visitors, and patrons
    at the hotel entrance.
  • Open vehicle and hotel doors, assisting guests
    as needed upon arrival and departure.
  • Welcome guests using appropriate
    greetings and maintain a warm, friendly demeanor.
  • Coordinate seamlessly
    with Bellman and Concierge for luggage handling and guest assistance.

Guest Assistance & Service

  • Provide
    directions, basic hotel information, and assistance with immediate guest
    needs.
  • Assist guests in obtaining transportation (taxis, ride services,
    limousines).
  • Anticipate guest requirements and offer proactive
    assistance at all times.
  • Recognize VIPs, repeat guests, and long-stay
    guests, ensuring personalized attention.

Traffic &
Entrance Management

  • Manage the smooth flow of traffic
    at the hotel entrance, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Guide vehicles
    to appropriate drop-off and pick-up points.
  • Coordinate with Security
    and Valet (if applicable) to maintain order and safety.
  • Ensure
    the entrance area remains clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities


  • Participate in training sessions, SOP briefings, and service culture
    programs.
  • Assist in setting up the hotel entrance, porte cochère,
    and signage.
  • Take part in mock operations, service simulations,
    and workflow testing.
  • Support the establishment of arrival
    and departure standards in line with Mandarin Oriental brand guidelines.

Coordination & Communication


  • Maintain clear communication with Front Office, Concierge, Bell Desk,
    and Security.
  • Inform relevant teams of guest arrivals, special
    requests, and VIP movements.
  • Ensure smooth coordination during peak
    periods, group arrivals, and events.
  • Report any guest concerns,
    feedback, or unusual observations promptly.

Guest
Relations & Brand Representation

  • Uphold Mandarin
    Oriental’s philosophy of intuitive and anticipatory service.
  • Maintain
    professional grooming, posture, and demeanor at all times.
  • Engage
    guests politely while respecting their privacy and space.
  • Deliver
    a memorable and refined first impression of the hotel.

Safety, Security & Compliance

  • Monitor guest
    and vehicle movement at the entrance for safety and security.
  • Report
    suspicious activities or incidents immediately to Security.
  • Follow all
    hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure compliance
    with hotel policies and brand standards at all times.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Previous
    experience in a similar role in a hotel or luxury service environment is
    an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic English proficiency; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Well-groomed with a professional appearance and posture .

  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Positive
    attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Guest-focused with a strong service
    mindset.
  • Friendly, courteous, and approachable demeanor.

  • Attention to detail and reliability.
