Mandarin Oriental, Makati
is an upcoming 5-star luxury hotel set within the lush Ayala Triangle Gardens,

Scheduled to open in 2026, this landmark development will feature 275 elegantly
appointed guestrooms and suites, offering a refined blend of contemporary design
and timeless sophistication. Guests will enjoy an exceptional array
of world-class amenities, including a curated selection of restaurants,
a stylish bar, a serene pool area, and the brand’s signature spa. Designed to
be a sanctuary in the heart of the city, the hotel promises an elevated
experience for both leisure and business travelers seeking comfort, excellence,
and distinction in Manila.

The Role

The
Houseman is responsible for providing essential support to the Housekeeping team
to ensure efficient operations, proper supply distribution, and the overall
cleanliness and readiness of guest rooms and public areas. This role plays
a vital part in maintaining operational flow and upholding Mandarin Oriental’s
legendary standards of service and presentation.

In a pre-opening
environment, the Houseman contributes to setup activities, organization
of housekeeping areas, and readiness for a seamless hotel opening.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Support


  • Assist Room Attendants and Public Area Attendants in completing daily
    cleaning tasks
  • Deliver linens, towels, guest supplies, and amenities
    to assigned floors and workstations
  • Ensure housekeeping pantries
    and service areas are fully stocked and organized
  • Support efficient
    turnaround of guest rooms by replenishing supplies promptly

Linen
& Supplies Handling

  • Transport clean and soiled linens between
    floors, linen rooms, and laundry areas
  • Assist in sorting, organizing,
    and distributing linens according to operational needs
  • Maintain proper
    handling and storage of housekeeping supplies and equipment
  • Monitor
    stock levels and report shortages to Supervisors

Public Area &
Back-of-House Support

  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining selected
    public areas and back-of-house spaces as required
  • Remove trash, empty
    bins, and support waste management processes
  • Maintain cleanliness
    of service corridors, storage areas, and housekeeping offices
  • Support
    setup and breakdown of housekeeping-related equipment and materials

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and setting up
    linen rooms, storage areas, and housekeeping pantries
  • Participate
    in deep cleaning and preparation of guest rooms and public spaces

  • Support inventory organization, OS&E setup, and stock distribution

  • Take part in training sessions, SOP briefings, and mock operations

Coordination & Communication

  • Communicate regularly
    with Supervisors and team members regarding supply needs and task
    completion
  • Coordinate closely with Room Attendants, Public Area
    Attendants, and Laundry team
  • Report maintenance issues, damages,
    or irregularities promptly
  • Ensure smooth support during peak periods
    and group movements

Equipment Handling & Maintenance


  • Ensure proper use and handling of housekeeping equipment (carts, trolleys,
    vacuum cleaners)
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality
    of equipment
  • Report any equipment malfunction or damage
    immediately
  • Ensure safe storage of all tools and materials

Safety, Hygiene & Compliance

  • Follow all health, safety,
    and hygiene standards at all times
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment
    safely and in accordance with guidelines
  • Observe proper lifting
    and handling techniques to prevent injury
  • Report any hazards,
    accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately


Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma
    or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or
    a support role is an advantage (luxury experience preferred)
  • Physically
    fit and able to lift, carry, and move supplies and equipment
  • Basic
    understanding of housekeeping operations is a plus
  • Good communication
    skills; basic English preferred
  • Strong work ethic and willingness
    to support team operations
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation
