appointed guestrooms and suites, offering a refined blend of contemporary design

a stylish bar, a serene pool area, and the brand’s signature spa. Designed to
be a sanctuary in the heart of the city, the hotel promises an elevated
experience for both leisure and business travelers seeking comfort, excellence,
and distinction in Manila.
The Role
The
Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene,
and overall presentation of all public and back-of-house areas of the hotel
to the highest standards. This role ensures that all guest-facing spaces
are immaculate, well-maintained, and reflective of Mandarin Oriental’s legendary
luxury service experience.
In a pre-opening environment, the Public Area
Attendant plays a key role in preparing all areas of the hotel for opening,
supporting deep cleaning efforts, and learning brand standards to ensure
operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Maintenance of Public Areas
- Clean and maintain all
public areas, including lobby, entrance, corridors, elevators, restrooms,
restaurants, function rooms, spa, and recreational facilities - Ensure
floors, carpets, furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces are spotless
and well-presented - Regularly clean and sanitize high-touch areas such
as door handles, elevator buttons, and handrails - Ensure public
restrooms are clean, fully stocked, and maintained at all times
Guest Experience & Service
- Uphold Mandarin Oriental’s philosophy
of intuitive and anticipatory service - Be visible, courteous,
and responsive to guests while working in public areas - Assist guests
with directions and basic information when required - Maintain
a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Pre-Opening
Responsibilities
- Participate in deep cleaning, setup,
and preparation of all public areas prior to opening - Attend training
sessions, SOP briefings, and service culture programs - Take part in mock
operations, inspections, and simulation exercises - Assist in organizing
storage areas, cleaning equipment, and supply rooms
Cleaning
Equipment & Supplies
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals properly
and safely - Maintain cleanliness and readiness of tools, machinery,
and janitorial carts - Monitor supply levels and inform the Supervisor
of any shortages - Ensure proper storage of cleaning chemicals
and materials
Coordination & Communication
- Communicate effectively with Supervisors regarding assigned tasks
and completed work - Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety
concerns promptly - Coordinate with Engineering and other departments
as needed - Ensure timely response to cleaning requests and urgent
situations
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all
hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness standards - Adhere strictly
to health and safety regulations - Use personal protective equipment
(PPE) as required - Report any accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions
immediately
Support to Operations
- Assist with special
cleaning projects, events, or high-traffic periods - Support housekeeping
operations during peak times as required - Help maintain a clean
and organized back-of-house environment
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma
or equivalent (hospitality training preferred) - Previous experience
in housekeeping or cleaning roles is an advantage (luxury hotel experience
preferred) - Physically fit and able to perform cleaning tasks and stand
for extended periods - Basic understanding of cleaning methods
and hygiene standards - Basic English communication skills
