is an upcoming 5-star luxury hotel set within the lush Ayala Triangle Gardens,

appointed guestrooms and suites, offering a refined blend of contemporary design

a stylish bar, a serene pool area, and the brand’s signature spa. Designed to
be a sanctuary in the heart of the city, the hotel promises an elevated
experience for both leisure and business travelers seeking comfort, excellence,
and distinction in Manila.

The Role

The
Public Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness,
maintenance, and presentation of all public and back-of-house areas of
the hotel, ensuring they meet the highest standards of luxury in line
with Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service philosophy.

In a pre-opening
environment, this role is critical in setting cleanliness standards, supporting
operational readiness, and ensuring all areas are prepared to deliver a flawless
first impression to guests.

Key
Responsibilities

Public Area Operations

  • Supervise
    the daily cleaning and upkeep of all public areas, including lobby, porte
    cochère, restaurants, corridors, function spaces, restrooms, spa, parking,
    and recreational areas
  • Ensure all public and back-of-house areas
    are maintained to exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards

  • Conduct regular inspections throughout the shift to ensure quality
    and adherence to brand standards
  • Ensure timely response to cleaning
    requests, spills, and urgent maintenance needs

Guest Experience &
Brand Standards

  • Ensure all public spaces reflect Mandarin
    Oriental’s refined, elegant, and luxurious ambiance
  • Uphold the brand’s
    philosophy of intuitive and anticipatory service
  • Ensure discreet
    and efficient service delivery in guest-facing areas
  • Handle guest
    feedback related to cleanliness and public areas promptly
    and professionally

Pre-Opening Responsibilities


  • Participate in pre-opening setup, deep cleaning, and final preparation
    of all public areas
  • Assist in developing and implementing Standard
    Operating Procedures (SOPs) for public area cleaning
  • Take part in mock
    operations, inspections, and simulation exercises
  • Assist in setting up
    schedules, routes, and cleaning plans for public area attendants

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise Public Area Attendants,
    ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards
  • Assign
    daily duties and monitor team productivity and performance
  • Provide
    on-the-job training, coaching, and guidance to team members
  • Ensure
    proper grooming, discipline, and adherence to hotel standards
  • Foster
    a positive and team-oriented work environment

Cleaning Standards &
Quality Control

  • Ensure proper cleaning techniques, chemicals,
    and equipment are used
  • Maintain high-quality standards for floors,
    carpets, furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces
  • Ensure washrooms
    are consistently clean, stocked, and well-maintained
  • Monitor
    and maintain scent, ambiance, and overall guest perception of public spaces

Inventory & Supplies Control

  • Monitor usage of cleaning
    supplies, chemicals, and equipment
  • Ensure proper storage and handling
    of all housekeeping materials
  • Maintain stock levels and report
    shortages or issues promptly
  • Assist in inventory counts and cost
    control initiatives

Coordination & Communication


  • Coordinate with Front Office, Engineering, F&B, and Security to ensure
    seamless operations
  • Report maintenance issues and follow up
    with Engineering for timely resolution
  • Communicate guest activity,
    events, and peak periods to ensure adequate coverage
  • Participate
    in daily briefings and shift handovers

Safety, Hygiene &
Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and sanitation
    standards
  • Monitor proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals
    and equipment
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and emergency
    protocols
  • Report accidents, hazards, or irregularities immediately

Qualifications & Experience


  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field
    preferred
  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in Housekeeping or Public
    Area operations in a luxury hotel environment
  • Previous supervisory
    experience is an advantage
  • Pre-opening experience is preferred
