The Role

The
Uniform Attendant is responsible for the efficient management, issuance,
maintenance, and control of all employee uniforms, ensuring that all colleagues
are consistently presented in immaculate condition in line with Mandarin
Oriental’s luxury standards.

This role plays an essential part
in supporting the overall grooming and professional image of the hotel, ensuring
uniforms are clean, well-maintained, properly fitted, and readily available
at all times.

Key Responsibilities


Uniform Issuance & Control

  • Issue uniforms to all hotel
    colleagues based on departmental entitlement and established policies.

  • Maintain accurate records of uniform issuance, returns, and exchanges.

  • Ensure proper tracking and accountability of uniforms at all times.

  • Manage uniform lockers or distribution systems efficiently.

Cleaning, Maintenance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all uniforms
    are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standard.
  • Inspect
    uniforms regularly for wear and tear, stains, or damage.
  • Coordinate
    repairs, alterations, and replacements as required.
  • Remove damaged
    or substandard uniforms from circulation.

Inventory Management


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date uniform inventory records.

  • Conduct regular stock counts and audits.
  • Monitor stock levels
    and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with procurement
    or suppliers for replenishment of uniforms.

Laundry Operations
Coordination

  • Work closely with the Laundry team / Laundry Service
    Provider to ensure proper washing, drying, and pressing of uniforms.

  • Monitor turnaround times to ensure timely availability of clean
    uniforms.
  • Ensure proper handling of specialty fabrics and delicate
    garments.
  • Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards throughout
    the process.

Service & Colleague Support

  • Provide
    efficient, courteous, and professional service to all hotel colleagues.

  • Assist employees with uniform fittings, exchanges, and special
    requests.
  • Ensure all uniforms meet correct sizing and fit
    standards.
  • Support enforcement of grooming and uniform standards.

Organization & Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness,
    orderliness, and organization of the uniform room at all times.
  • Ensure
    uniforms are properly stored by department, size, and type.
  • Follow
    proper storage methods to maintain garment quality.

Compliance &
Safety

  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

  • Adhere to hotel policies and Mandarin Oriental standards.
  • Ensure
    proper handling of chemicals, laundry equipment, and garments.
  • Maintain
    confidentiality and accountability of issued items.


Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma
    or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in laundry operations
    or housekeeping is an advantage (luxury hotel experience preferred)

  • Physically fit and able to handle repetitive tasks and stand for extended
    periods
  • Basic English communication skills
  • High attention
    to detail and quality standards.
  • Basic record-keeping and inventory
    management ability.
