The Role

The
Assistant Director of Banqueting supports the Director of Banqueting
in overseeing the overall operations, service delivery, financial performance,
and team management of the Banquets Department.
This role is responsible
for ensuring the successful execution of all banquet and catering events,
including corporate meetings, conferences, social gatherings, weddings,
and special functions.

The Assistant Director of Banqueting works
closely with Events, Sales, Culinary, and other operational departments
to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards
of service excellence, profitability, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership


Assist in leading the day-to-day operations of the Banquets Department to ensure
seamless event execution and service excellence.
• Oversee banquet functions
from planning through execution, ensuring compliance with company standards
and guest expectations.
• Ensure all banquet venues are properly prepared,
set up, and maintained according to event requirements.
• Conduct pre-event
briefings and post-event reviews to ensure operational readiness and continuous
improvement.
• Monitor banquet service standards and ensure consistent
delivery of exceptional guest experiences.

Event Management


Collaborate with the Events and Sales teams in reviewing Banquet Event Orders
(BEOs) and function requirements.
• Ensure all event specifications,
timelines, and special requests are communicated effectively to operational
teams.
• Support the management of large-scale events, VIP functions,
conferences, and high-profile social gatherings.
• Serve as the operational
point of contact during events and proactively resolve guest concerns
and service challenges.
• Conduct event walkthroughs to ensure proper setup,
presentation, and service execution.

People Leadership
and Development

• Assist in recruiting, training, coaching,
and developing banquet colleagues to achieve operational excellence.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
to support employee growth.
• Foster a positive, engaged,
and service-oriented work environment.
• Ensure scheduling and staffing
levels align with business demands and productivity goals.
• Promote
compliance with company policies, grooming standards, and service
procedures.

Financial and Business Management

• Support
the preparation and management of departmental budgets and forecasts.

Monitor banquet labor costs, productivity, and operational expenses to achieve
financial objectives.
• Identify opportunities to maximize revenue
and improve profitability while maintaining service quality.
• Review banquet
revenue performance and contribute recommendations for business
improvements.
• Assist in inventory control and cost management
initiatives.

Guest Experience and Quality Assurance

• Maintain
strong relationships with clients, event planners, and key stakeholders.

Ensure prompt and professional handling of guest feedback, concerns, and special
requests.
• Monitor guest satisfaction levels and implement initiatives
to improve service delivery.
• Ensure adherence to brand standards and luxury
hospitality service expectations.

Health, Safety, and Compliance


Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and fire safety
regulations.
• Maintain safe working practices within banquet
operations.
• Ensure all banquet equipment and facilities are properly
maintained and operational.
• Support departmental emergency preparedness
and risk management initiatives.

Interdepartmental Collaboration


Partner closely with Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping, Audio
Visual, and Events teams to ensure successful event delivery.
• Participate
in operational meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Foster strong communication and collaboration across departments to drive
operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.


Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
in hospitality management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Business
Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive
experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage, or Event Operations within a luxury
hotel, integrated resort, convention center, or upscale hospitality
environment.
• At least 2–3 years of leadership experience in a Banquet
Manager, Assistant Banquet Manager, or equivalent supervisory role.

Experience managing large-scale banquet operations, conferences, weddings,
and VIP events is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of banquet operations, event
management, food and beverage service, and hospitality standards.

Proficiency in Banquet Event Order (BEO) management and event planning
processes.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost control,
and financial analysis.
• Familiarity with hotel property management
and catering systems.
