Mandarin Oriental Makati

The Role

The
Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation,
and operational readiness of all pool facilities and recreational areas.
The role plays an important part in creating memorable guest experiences
by anticipating guest needs, providing personalized service, and ensuring
the pool environment consistently meets the highest standards of luxury
hospitality.


Key Responsibilities


Guest Experience

  • Deliver warm, courteous,
    and personalized service to all guests in accordance with Mandarin Oriental
    standards.
  • Welcome guests to the pool area and provide assistance
    with seating, towels, and poolside amenities.
  • Anticipate guest needs
    and respond promptly to requests in a professional and efficient manner.

  • Maintain a visible presence in the pool area and proactively engage
    with guests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate guest preferences
    and special requests to the Pool Manager and relevant colleagues.

Pool Operations and Maintenance

  • Ensure the pool, pool deck,
    cabanas, loungers, and surrounding facilities are clean, organized,
    and presentable at all times.
  • Arrange, clean, and maintain pool
    furniture and equipment before, during, and after operating hours.

  • Collect and replenish towels and amenities as required.
  • Conduct
    routine cleaning of poolside areas and remove debris from the pool
    and surrounding facilities.
  • Monitor the condition of pool equipment
    and report maintenance concerns promptly.

Safety
and Compliance

  • Ensure pool rules and safety procedures
    are consistently observed by guests.
  • Monitor the pool area
    and immediately report any safety concerns, accidents, or incidents.

  • Support emergency response procedures in accordance with hotel policies
    and training.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment for guests
    and colleagues.
  • Follow all health, hygiene, and sanitation standards
    established by the hotel and local authorities.

Operational
Support

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of poolside events,
    activities, and special promotions.
  • Coordinate closely with Food &
    Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure seamless
    operations.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of towels, guest supplies,
    and poolside amenities.
  • Ensure all service stations and storage areas
    remain organized and properly maintained.
  • Complete assigned operational
    checklists and daily duties accurately and efficiently.

Quality
and Brand Standards

  • Uphold all Mandarin Oriental policies,
    procedures, and service standards.
  • Contribute to achieving departmental
    goals related to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct that reflects the values
    and image of Mandarin Oriental.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous
    improvement and exceptional guest service.


Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma
    or equivalent required.
  • Hospitality-related education or training is
    an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a hotel, resort, recreation
    facility, or guest service environment preferred.
  • Experience in luxury
    hospitality is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of pool operations,
    recreational facilities, and safety procedures.
  • Understanding
    of health, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to safely operate
    cleaning equipment and handle poolside supplies.
