About the job

As the Asst. Director of Sales,
you will lead by example in developing and implementing the sales activities
within your segment. You take pride in developing and deploying sales generation
activities within your assigned market, and in guiding and supporting your
colleagues as they deploy activities in their assigned markets. Your team

The Assistant Director of Sales is a key member of
the pre‑opening Commercial team and plays a critical role in establishing
Mandarin Oriental Hangzhou’s presence in the Hangzhou luxury market. The role
is responsible for building the corporate segment from the ground up: developing
commercial strategy, acquiring key accounts, nurturing long-term relationships,
and driving revenue optimization aligned with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group
(MOHG) standards.

This role supports the Director of Sales in executing
the hotel’s commercial plan, contributes to the leadership of the sales
function, and represents the brand through Mandarin Oriental’s legendary quality
and service philosophy.

As Assistant Director of Sales, you
will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Cultivating
    and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients to grow
    business, shift market share, and elevate awareness of the hotel and
    the Mandarin Oriental brand.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert
    for your assigned market or segment, providing strategic insights
    and guidance.
  • Analyzing account performance, identifying trends,
    and implementing targeted sales actions aligned with the annual marketing
    plan.
  • Planning, coordinating, and participating in sales calls,
    familiarization trips, site inspections, and hosted client experiences.

  • Developing and executing both short‑ and long‑term commercial strategies
    to achieve sales goals and maintain a competitive market position.

  • Demonstrating attentive listening to understand each client’s business
    objectives and tailored requirements.
  • Communicating the hotel’s unique
    features and benefits in a manner that addresses both expressed and unexpressed
    client needs.
  • Representing the hotel at trade shows, key industry
    events, and brand initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development
    and execution of the hotel’s annual marketing plan.
  • Ensuring accuracy
    and integrity of data input in all sales systems to support precise analysis
    and reporting.
  • Managing lead flow, advancing opportunities,
    and ensuring timely follow‑up.
  • Leveraging social media and digital
    platforms to identify new opportunities and deepen engagement with existing
    clients.
  • Creating compelling, storytelling‑driven presentations
    that showcase the hotel’s experiences, spaces, and services.
  • Ensuring
    all sales activities, communications, and follow‑up actions are documented
    in accordance with established standards.
