The Role

The
Fitness Supervisor supports the Director of Spa & Wellness in delivering
exceptional wellness experiences that exceed guest expectations in line
with Mandarin Oriental's Legendary Quality Experiences (LQE), MOQA standards,
and Spa & Wellness brand standards. This role is responsible for overseeing
the daily operations of the Fitness Centre and Swimming Pool, ensuring
the highest standards of guest service, safety, facility presentation, colleague
performance, and operational efficiency. The Fitness Supervisor contributes
to maintaining a luxury wellness environment while supporting departmental
objectives, colleague development, and guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence


Support the Director of Spa & Wellness in implementing and maintaining LQE,
MOQA, and Spa & Wellness standards across all guest interactions.
• Oversee
the daily operations of the Fitness Centre and Swimming Pool, ensuring a safe,
clean, and welcoming environment at all times.
• Monitor guest satisfaction
and proactively address guest feedback, concerns, and special requests in
a timely manner.
• Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational
priorities, wellness initiatives, and service standards to the team.
• Ensure
all fitness and pool facilities, equipment, and amenities are maintained to
the highest operational and presentation standards.
• Coordinate
with Engineering and Housekeeping to address maintenance and cleanliness
requirements promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety,
emergency, and operational procedures.
• Uphold Mandarin Oriental grooming,
presentation, and professional conduct standards at all times.
• Maintain
effective communication within the Spa & Wellness Department and across all
hotel departments.
• Support a positive, collaborative, and service-oriented
working environment.

Fitness & Pool Operations

• Supervise
the daily activities of the Fitness Centre and Swimming Pool.
• Conduct
regular inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure safety, functionality,
and cleanliness.
• Ensure all fitness equipment is operational and report
maintenance concerns promptly.
• Assist guests with fitness facility
orientation and respond to wellness and fitness-related enquiries.
• Support
the delivery of fitness activities, wellness programs, and recreational
initiatives as required.
• Monitor pool operations to ensure safety
procedures and service standards are consistently maintained.
• Ensure all
operating procedures are followed and service standards are consistently
achieved.

Sales and Revenue Generation

• Promote wellness
programs, personal training services, fitness memberships, and Spa & Wellness
offerings.
• Support the achievement of departmental revenue and utilization
targets.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Spa & Wellness facilities,
services, treatments, and hotel experiences to maximize cross-selling
opportunities.
• Assist in promoting wellness events, seasonal programs,
and guest engagement activities.
• Identify opportunities to enhance
the guest experience while supporting departmental revenue objectives.


Administrative and Periodic Duties

• Assist in preparing colleague
schedules and duty rosters based on operational requirements.
• Maintain
attendance records and operational reports as required.
• Monitor inventory
levels of fitness and pool supplies and ensure adequate stock
is maintained.
• Report and follow up on maintenance issues to support
operational efficiency.
• Support safety inspections, audits, and compliance
requirements.
• Ensure operational records and documentation are maintained
accurately.

People Development

• Support the onboarding,
orientation, and training of Fitness and Pool colleagues.
• Conduct
on-the-job coaching to ensure colleagues meet established service
and operational standards.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability,
and continuous improvement.
• Assist in identifying training and development
opportunities within the team.
• Lead by example as an ambassador of Mandarin
Oriental's service philosophy and values.

Additional Responsibilities


• Support operations across all Spa & Wellness areas as required, including
Spa Reception, Treatment Areas, Retail, Relaxation Areas, Wellness Programs,
Fitness Centre, and Pool operations, contributing to a seamless guest experience
and supporting departmental service, operational, and revenue objectives.

Assist with VIP arrivals, wellness events, group activities, and special guest
requests.
• Perform opening and closing duties as required.
• Demonstrate
flexibility in supporting operational requirements and business needs across
the Spa & Wellness department.
• Carry out any additional responsibilities
as assigned by the Director of Spa & Wellness.


Qualifications & Experience


• Diploma or Degree
in Sports Science, Physical Education, Fitness Management, Wellness, Hospitality
Management, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certification
in Personal Training, Fitness Instruction, Group Exercise, Lifeguarding, or
a related discipline.
• Must possess and maintain valid certifications
required by local regulations, including First Aid, CPR, and AED
certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a luxury fitness,
recreation, wellness, or hospitality environment, including at least 1 year in
a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of fitness operations, pool
management, guest safety, and luxury service standards.
• Proven leadership,
coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in fitness
or recreation management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Professional grooming and presentation aligned with Mandarin Oriental
standards.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
