The Role
The
Spa Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional wellness experiences
that exceed guest expectations in line with Mandarin Oriental's Legendary
Quality Experiences (LQE), MOQA standards, and Spa & Wellness brand standards.
The role delivers professional spa treatments, maintains the highest standards
of guest care, and contributes to the overall success of the Spa & Wellness
operation through service excellence, retail performance, and a commitment
to wellness and luxury hospitality.
Key
Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
• Deliver all treatments in accordance with Mandarin Oriental Spa &
Wellness standards, established treatment protocols, and guest preferences.
•
Create a warm, professional, and personalized experience for every guest.
•
Conduct thorough guest consultations and health assessments prior
to treatments.
• Anticipate guest needs and recommend appropriate treatments,
products, and wellness programs.
• Ensure guest comfort, privacy,
and confidentiality at all times.
• Handle guest feedback professionally
and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Uphold LQE, MOQA, and Forbes service
standards throughout the guest journey.
• Maintain professional grooming
and presentation in accordance with Mandarin Oriental standards.
Treatment Operations
• Perform massage, body, and wellness
treatments to the highest professional standards.
• Ensure treatment rooms
are prepared, clean, and fully stocked before and after each treatment.

Follow all treatment protocols, SOPs, and hygiene procedures.
• Maintain
treatment equipment and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
• Ensure
accurate completion of guest consultation cards and treatment records.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
Retail & Revenue Generation
• Promote and recommend retail
products, wellness programs, and spa services based on guest needs.
• Support
the achievement of treatment and retail sales targets.
• Maintain strong
product knowledge and awareness of current promotions.
• Maximize
opportunities for repeat business through exceptional guest engagement
and personalized recommendations.
Teamwork & Professional
Development
• Participate actively in departmental meetings,
briefings, and training sessions.
• Maintain and continuously develop
treatment techniques, product knowledge, and wellness expertise.
• Support
colleagues and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
•
Demonstrate flexibility in assisting with operational requirements across
the Spa & Wellness department.
• Act as an ambassador of the Mandarin
Oriental Spa & Wellness philosophy.
Additional Responsibilities
• Support operations across all Spa & Wellness areas as required,
including Spa Reception, Retail, Relaxation Areas, Fitness Centre, Wellness
Programs, and Pool operations.
• Assist with VIP arrivals, wellness events,
and special guest requests.
• Perform opening and closing duties
as assigned.
• Comply with all health, safety, hygiene, and emergency
procedures.
• Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by
the Treatment Supervisor.
Qualifications &
Experience
• Diploma or certification in Massage Therapy,
Beauty Therapy, Wellness Therapy, or a related field.
• Must possess a valid
TESDA National Certificate (NC II) in Massage Therapy and a DOH Licensed Massage
Therapist (LMT) Certificate in accordance with local regulatory
requirements.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a luxury spa, wellness,
or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of massage therapies, body
treatments, wellness practices, and luxury service standards.
• Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills with professional grooming
and presentation.
• Ability to recommend treatments, wellness programs,
and retail products effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability
to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
with a commitment to exceptional guest service.
• Flexible to work shifts,
weekends, and public holidays.
• Additional wellness certifications are
an advantage.
