In-Room Dining team.

About
the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston in the In-Room Dining
Department in Boston, the Part Time In-Room Dining Server is responsible for
the intake of all guest in-room dining inquiries and orders; providing
a personalized dining experience by providing detailed recommendations,
processing orders, and coordinating the set up and delivery
to guests.

The In-Room Dining Server reports to the In-Room Dining
Manager.

As In-Room Dining Server, you will be responsible
for the following duties:

  • Deliver in room dining order to
    the guests within the quoted time

  • Set up the dining table and/or
    tray accurately and in timely manner

  • Verify guest satisfaction
    before leaving the room

  • Check accuracy of order before
    delivering

  • Maintain extensive knowledge of food and beverage
    to assist guests with suggestions and upsell our products, including liquors
    and cocktails

  • Do all side work and preparation of equipment
    for the continuation of the operation

  • Make sure that all silver
    and glasses are wiped and spotless

  • Make sure that all product
    served are accounted for on the final bill before presenting it


  • Anticipate guest needs

  • Provide excellent service to all
    guests

  • Assist Guest courteously and efficiently, providing
    service for any guest’s request

  • Attend daily
    pre-meal/communication meeting

  • Attend monthly department
    meeting

  • Assist order taker when necessary

  • Pick
    up trays and trolleys on a timely manner

  • Other duties
    as assigned by management.

As In-Room Dining Server,
we expect from you:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience
    in similar position in a luxury hotel property

  • Reading, writing
    and oral proficiency in the English language

  • Willing to work
    a flexible on-call schedule to include weekends and holidays

  • Be
    a self-motivator and motivator of others

  • Must be able to work
    in a high pace and dynamic operation

  • Be able to work together
    with other colleagues

  • Have a pleasant, friendly and helpful
    manner.

  • Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene
    and grooming

  • Work in a safe, prudent and organized
    manner

  • Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one
    time

  • Have excellent communication and organization
    skills

  • Be able to consistently delight and satisfy our
    guest

Compensation

The hourly rate of pay
for this position is $18.86, plus gratuity.
