About
the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, within the Housekeeping
Department, the Housekeeping Assistant Manager will support the Executive
Housekeeper in overseeing all aspects of the Housekeeping department, ensuring
the highest standards of cleanliness, guest comfort, and operational efficiency
are consistently met at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. This role involves supervising
staff, managing daily operations, and contributing to the overall guest
experience.

As Housekeeping Assistant Manager, you
will be responsible for the
following duties:

* Assist
the Executive Housekeeper in planning, organizing, and directing all
Housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry,
and linen.

* Supervise, train, and motivate a diverse team of housekeeping
attendants, supervisors, and linen room staff.
* Conduct regular inspections
of guest rooms and public areas to ensure compliance with Mandarin Oriental’s
stringent quality and cleanliness standards.
* Manage inventory of cleaning
supplies, amenities, and linen, ensuring adequate stock levels
and cost-effective purchasing.
* Handle guest requests, complaints,
and special needs promptly and efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
in collaboration with the Executive Housekeeper.
* Monitor and control
departmental expenses, adhering to budget guidelines.
* Prepare staff
schedules, manage payroll, and track attendance.
* Ensure all staff adhere
to safety and sanitation regulations.
* Participate in performance reviews
and disciplinary actions as required.
* Assist with special projects
and initiatives to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.
*
Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments, including Front Office,
Engineering, and Food & Beverage.

As Housekeeping Assistant
Manager, we expect from you
:

* Minimum of 3-5 years
of progressive experience in Housekeeping operations, with at least 1-2 years
in a supervisory or assistant management role within a luxury hotel
environment.
* Strong understanding of luxury hotel standards and guest
expectations.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
* Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse
team.
* Proficiency in English and Japanese (both written and spoken)
is highly preferred; additional language skills are a plus.
* Strong
organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexible
hours, including weekends and holidays, as per operational needs.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and hotel property
management systems (PMS).
* A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management
or a related field is desirable.
