Manager to join our Groups & Events Sales team.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental
Savoy, Zurich within the Groups & Events Sales Manager supports the Groups &
Events Sales function at Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich, ensuring the smooth
coordination and execution of group and event business. The role focuses
on managing administrative processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring
all contractual and legal requirements are met. In the absence of the Director
of Groups & Events Sales, the role represents the department and ensures
continuity of operations.

As Groups & Events Sales Manager,
you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Deputy of
    the Director of Groups and Events Sales
  • Management of group and event
    requests for hotels of various sizes and values
  • Handling of the request
    for the preparation of offers and price negotiations as well as the creation
    of contracts and the control of the final invoice
  • Coordination of
    the smooth and guest-oriented organization of events and/or the accommodation
    of a group in cooperation with all relevant departments
  • Own both
    proactive and reactive MICE sales, with a clear focus on proactive business
    generation, client acquisition and revenue growth
  • Committed
    to upselling meetings and conferences
  • Development of seasonal
    and creative promotional offers
  • Preparing the "function sheet" (service
    order) and passing the information to the operational departments during
    the "BEO" (Banquet Event Order) and group meetings
  • Achievement
    of departmental goals and implementation of Mandarin Oriental's quality
    standards
  • Responsible, together with the Director of Groups & Events,
    to reach Groups & Events financial goals
  • Knowledge of information
    security, security and risk management in your department
  • Coordination
    between the different profit centers (kitchen, service, F&B, wellness
    and housekeeping)
  • Lead for reactive sales, in some areas pro-active,
    in the area of meetings and events
  • Handle event inquiries, including
    initial consultation with clients
  • Prepare and submit proposals
    and offers
  • Qualify leads and conduct follow-up discussions, including
    negotiations
  • Conduct site inspections and client meetings for detailed
    event planning
  • Create and manage event contracts
  • Prepare
    function sheets and distribute them internally to ensure smooth
    coordination
  • Accounting and control of incoming payments

  • Post-processing / obtaining customer feedback
  • Control of the offer
    and follow-up work
  • Keeping a complete customer history in
    the PMS

  • Ensuring professional and proactive support before /
    during and after the events

  • Ensuring uninterrupted accessibility
    by customers / potential customers during office hours
  • Creation of menu
    cards for occasions and events
  • Prepare premises for events

As Groups & Events Sales Manager, we expect
from you:

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in Groups & Events
    Sales
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment would be
    an advantage
  • Must be excellent in using computer and well versed in all
    computer applications
  • Charming and outgoing with excellent
    interpersonal skills for both external and internal customers
  • Ability
    to work under pressure
  • Positive attitude and good communicator

  • Excellent knowledge of German and English.

    Further foreign language skills are an advantage
  • Effective time
    management, communication and presentation skills
  • Flexibility
    to respond to a range of different work situations
  • The successful
    candidate must already be eligible to work in Switzerland
