Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is looking for an F&B Operations
Trainee
to join our Food & Beverage Department.

About the job

Based at Mandarin Oriental,
Barcelona
, within the Food & Beverage Department, the F&B
Operations Trainee
supports the different Food & Beverage outlets while
developing a comprehensive understanding of the department’s daily operations,
procedures, and service standards.

The F&B Operations Trainee reports
to the Director of Food & Beverage and the respective Outlet
Managers
.

As F&B Operations Trainee, you will be responsible
for the following duties:

Restaurant Operations

Welcome
and escort guests according to established service standards.

Learn
the food and beverage menus and provide recommendations to guests.

Take
food and beverage orders and ensure accurate service delivery.

Serve
dishes and beverages following luxury hospitality standards.

Assist
with restaurant setup, side duties, and closing procedures.

Support
the Restaurant Manager with daily operational requirements.


In-Room Dining Operations

Learn the In-Room Dining menu and be able
to make recommendations to guests.

Prepare trays and orders according
to established standards.

Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms
and ensure professional service.

Organize guest amenities and welcome
drinks.

Assist in minibar coordination and replenishment.

Support
setup, cleaning, and operational tasks within the department.

Assist
the In-Room Dining Manager with daily responsibilities.

Bar
Operations

Welcome guests and provide exceptional service at
the bar.

Learn the beverage menu and make recommendations based on guest
preferences.

Take orders and serve beverages and food items.


Assist with bar setup, replenishment, and closing activities.

Support
the Bar Manager in daily operational tasks.

Banqueting & Events
Operations

Welcome and assist guests attending meetings and events.


Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces according to event requirements.


Assist with setup, service, and breakdown of functions and events.


Maintain storage areas, equipment, and materials organized and clean.


Support the Banqueting Manager with all operational duties as required.


Sommelier Support

Offer aperitifs and welcome beverages
to guests when required.

Monitor and maintain stock levels of glassware
and wine-related equipment.

Learn to make wine recommendations
that complement menu offerings.

Assist in serving wines and beverages
according to service standards.

Support the Sommelier and Restaurant
Manager in daily operational duties.

General
Responsibilities

Gain a thorough understanding of all F&B outlets
and their operating procedures.

Develop knowledge of luxury hospitality
service standards and guest engagement.

Understand daily briefings,
operational reports, and service requirements.

Communicate effectively
with colleagues and other hotel departments.

Maintain high levels
of cleanliness, organization, and professionalism.

Ensure compliance
with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Assist with any additional
operational duties required by the Food & Beverage Management team.
