About
the job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Sales
Department in New York City, the Transient Sales Executive is responsible
for driving revenue by proactively soliciting new business and servicing
existing business from their assigned territory, and for supporting segment
divisional leaders in Leisure and Corporate segments. The Transient Sales
Executive reports to the Director of Sales
As Transient Sales
Executive, you will responsible for the following duties:
- Ensure
achievement of budgeted annual revenues in their individual territory
and segments – Leisure (USA - Midwest & Southeast) and Wholesale (USA);
Long-term Stays, as well as support the achievement of team goals in Corporate
Negotiated and Entertainment Transient - Analyse and evaluate client
production and implement sales action plans - Actively solicits new
business to move share from the competitive set and engage in client activities
including tradeshows, roadshows, sales trips, events, site inspections
entertainment, meet & greet, phone and email solicitation - Handle
inquiry calls and provide client proposals - Support Directors
in transient segment to support proposals, client activities and individual
reservation requests - Works closely with the Global Sales teams
to ensure revenue goals are achieved - Works with internal departments
to ensure clear communication for all VIPs and any special requests are met
for in-house guests - Attend meetings as needed including Morning
Meeting, Team Huddle, VIP Meeting, Revenue Meeting, and Sales & Marketing
Monthly Meeting - Review daily arrivals reports as well as monthly
account production and Agency360 reports - Ensure post trip reports
and expense reports are submitted in a timely manner; and daily activities
are added in Salesforce - Provide feedback and market information
on changing market conditions, including trends on the competition, as a result
of direct sales solicitation, telephone, reading material and interaction
with competitive hotel staff
As Transient Sales Executive,
we expect from you: (brief overview of requirements)
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in luxury hotel environment
- Must be highly skilled in presentation and communications in the English
language - Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order
to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks. - Must be able
to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections - Must be able
to travel on sales trips, roadshows, tradeshows and training - Must be
a self-motivator and motivator of others. - Must work in a safe, prudent
and organized manner. - Must have mathematical skills, computer software
aptitude and hotel operation knowledge. - Must be able to relate to all
levels of management - Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks
at one time - Must have superior organizational skills

Salary and Benefits
- $70,000 - $80,000 salary, commensurate
with experience - Sales Incentive Bonus Eligible
- A competitive
