About the job
Based at
the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Finance Department in Milan,
the Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for supporting the Director
of Finance in overseeing the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring
accuracy, compliance, and effective internal controls while maintaining
operational efficiency in line with Mandarin Oriental, Milan. The Assistant
Director of Finance reports to the Director of Finance.
As
Assistant Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the following
duties:
- To support the management of all financial operations,
ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and legal
requirements - To oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts
payable, accounts receivable, income audit, and general cashier functions
- To assist in supervising and guiding the Accounting team, ensuring accuracy,
efficiency, and professional development - To represent the Director
of Finance in their absence and support departmental leadership - To
coordinate month-end closing, including journal entries, reconciliations,
and financial analysis - To review financial statements and investigate
variances against budget and forecasts - To support the preparation
of financial reports for Corporate and management - To assist
in budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business
objectives - To manage cash flow and treasury activities, ensuring
appropriate liquidity and control of working capital - To monitor
internal controls and recommend improvements to processes and procedures
- To coordinate internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance
with regulatory requirements - To oversee compliance with tax
obligations, licenses, and statutory reporting - To support payroll
and credit control processes in coordination with relevant functions - To
review and approve financial transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments
as required - To promote efficiency and identify opportunities to improve
financial performance - To support learning and development initiatives
within the Finance team - To comply with MOHG policies, Code of Conduct,
and Safe, Sound and Sustainable practices - To carry out any additional
duties as required to support hotel operations
As
Assistant Director of Finance, we expect from you:
- To demonstrate 2–5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role
within hotel finance or accounting - To communicate effectively in both
English and Italian, written and verbal - To hold a degree in Accounting,
Finance, or a related field - To possess strong knowledge of accounting
principles, financial controls, and reporting processes - To demonstrate
advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- To exhibit strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex
financial data - To demonstrate excellent organizational
and prioritization skills - To exhibit strong leadership and team
management capabilities - To demonstrate the ability to work in
a fast-paced and high-pressure environment - To comply with MOHG Pillars,
