Role
The Director
of Interiors & Product Design leads the design development, prototyping
management, and installation of all Aman-designed bespoke operating supplies
and equipment (OSE), while providing strategic direction for artwork curation
and interior styling across new developments and existing properties. The role
is based in our Bangkok Corporate Office and ensures every project is delivered
on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Aman's uncompromising
design philosophy, brand standards, and commitment to exceptional guest
experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide brand-
and location-specific design direction for custom-designed OS&E, artwork,
and interior styling to ensure all projects reflect Aman’s design philosophy,
brand standards, quality expectations, and operational
requirements. - Lead the end-to-end design, prototyping, procurement
coordination, and installation of Aman-designed custom OS&E across multiple
international projects, ensuring delivery within approved budgets, schedules,
and quality standards. - Develop design concepts, specifications,
drawings, schedules, and other design documentation for tender and procurement
processes, while overseeing vendor shop drawings, prototypes, and production
to ensure alignment with the approved design intent. - Provide artwork
direction, decorative accessories, and styling elements for guest-facing
and public spaces, ensuring a cohesive design narrative appropriate to each
property's location and cultural context. - Present design concepts,
prototypes, and recommendations to executive leadership, ownership groups,
and project stakeholders to secure design approvals and facilitate informed
decision-making. - Build and maintain collaborative relationships
with internal teams, owners, consultants, and suppliers throughout all project
phases, from concept development through installation and project
completion. - Act as the primary design authority for all Aman-designed
OS&E, artwork, and interior styling matters across the portfolio, ensuring
consistent communication, coordination, and alignment with project
objectives. - Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships
with international manufacturers, artisans, artists, fabricators, and specialist
suppliers to support project delivery and continually expand Aman’s network
of exceptional creative partners. - Establish and maintain a comprehensive
library of approved suppliers, materials, finishes, bespoke products,
and artwork resources to support future developments and ongoing brand
innovation. - Monitor product quality throughout design development,
prototyping, production, and installation, resolving design-related issues
to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and execution
are achieved.
Requirements
- University
degree in Interior Design or a related field - Minimum 15 years’ related
professional experience, including 3+ years in a similar role within luxury
hospitality - Strong understanding of product design and operational
requirements for luxury hospitality assets - Fluent in written and spoken
English; additional languages preferred - Exceptional leadership
and stakeholder management skills - Willingness
to travel
